arm lenght

Question
I am a right handed player and my left (lead) arm is a little over an inch shorter that my right. How will this affect my swing, and what should I do to compensate for it?

Answer
Hello Ken:  I must admit, this is a first for me and therefore, I can only speculate.  Your extension at impact will be governed by your shortest arm which makes me think you should move the ball back in your stance about an inch with each club.  Otherwise you may be catching the ball on the upswing and hitting shots thin.  Moving the ball back may cause the club to be slightly open at impact and I would therefore suggest aiming a bit left.

Ken, I apologize for not being more specific and I would be very interested in hearing how useful this advice is and what else you try and the outcome.

John
