whats the oldest you can be before you can turn pro

Question
I'M 31. Is that too old to turn pro. I mean my PAT score is at74 and my handica is at 9. I've currently have about 15 lessons under my belt and getting ready to play course tournament. Also, I'm a military vet and just got off active duty not too long ago and seeking support to help e get to my goal to reach the level of a PGA Tour professional. So, if you can, please direct me in the right direction. Love to get Q school status and play the nationwide until I can get a PGA Tour exemtion. Can you please let me know? Thanks, Scott Wilson

Being 31 years old does not make you too old to try to qualify for the Tour. By all means you are a little late to the party for the Nationwide and PGA Tour but not too old. You also have the opportunity to prepare for the Champions Tour.

Having said that it is important to let you know how difficult the process is to qualify, let alone stay on tour. You said you currently carry a handicap of 9 but how difficult are the courses you play. The reason I ask is I wanted to give you a measuring stick. I know a couple of players who are +1 and +2 on some of the most difficult courses in America and could not make it on tour. So you have a ways to go with your game.

I am not trying to discourage you, I just wanted to give you a realistic picture.
Good Luck,
Scott
