Answer
Dear Richard,

It is more of an arm swing.  The lower body including the legs has the job of stabilizing the upper body, keeping it centered during the downswing, so that the arms can provide most (call it 80%) of the power for clubhead speed.

The greatest lever in the golf swing is the one formed by the clubshaft and the left arm (assuming a right-handed player).  When this angle (about 90 deg at the end of the backswing) is released during the impact process, most of the clubhead speed is achieved.  Like a sound golf swings, this should occur late in the downswing sequence.  That will give you maximum clubhead speed when you need it.

When the downswing sequence begins you should feel a solid base and even some resistance in the front leg.  Your feet stay flat through impact and then you allow the momentum of your swing to post you up around the top of that front leg (left if you are right-handed).  But a super swinger should not initiate the downswing by making a big weight shift off the back leg and into the left leg.  You should not drive your legs toward the target.  You simply want to remain solid and stable until the momentum of your arm swing carries you to the front foot and a traditional finish position.

I hope this helps you Richard.
