Golf's Historic Grand Slam Dynasty: Has Anyone Won 5 in a Row?

Hi--

I know that Jones and Woods each won the four major tournaments in a row (Jones in one calendar year), but has anyone (male or female)won FIVE in a row.

Now that I think about it, I guess this question boils down to whether Jones won the grand slam tournament before and/or after his run. If anyone else had won five in a row (but not four in one year, Woods' feat would not have been such a big deal.

Dear Steve, thanks for the question. Your intuition serves you well.  Jones retired after winning the 4 majors of his day. (US Open and Amateur, British Open and Amateur)  Yes, retired!  Hard to believe.  Only 28 years old.  And he did it as a amateur, obviously, never taking any prize money for his many titles.  He did not win five in a row, nor has anyone in history...til now...which will likely soon fall again as the record...Good luck and remember,
