which ski is best for east coast?

2016/7/22 11:04:46

Question
i am 170 pound male, intermediate/expert, looking for the best east coast skis to ski chutes, steeps, bumps and glades on the east coast, what ski/s do you recommend for me?

Answer
Dear Jake --

For east coast skiing you need a ski that will calmly edge on icy conditions and yet be flexible enough for bumps and glades.

If you are truly an expert skier I recommend one of the following:

Salomon -- Fury or Tornado series.

Volkl -- Grizzly or AC50.

Dynastar -- Legend Mythic Rider.

As always, I recommend renting a ski before buying, or attending a "demo day" where you can try many brands and styles of skis prior to buying.

Please write back if you want to discuss any options further, or you do not like any of these recommendations.

Enjoy your skiing.
