i wanna buy new skis

Question
Hi, I am an advanced skier, 48 kg, 164 cm height, 26 years old. At the moment i am skiing with a Wolkl racetiger sl 155 cm and Atomic RT cs 120 flex boots. I was extremely pleased with my skis and the feeling they gave me while on the slopes, but they are way too harsh on my knees and are very power consuming for me. I would like to change them to something that gives me the same performance, but which are a bit more user friendly and not so painfull for the joints:)the new skis should be approproate for groomes slopes as well as powder, and i would like to be able to ski slalom as well as carving and a bit of giant slalom... I wanna learn more and i wanna perform better. What do you think would fit? Is there a right ski for me to do all? Thanks a lot in advance, SONIA.

Answer
Dear Sonia --

You are asking a lot from one ski.  To get a ski that is more forgiving, but will still turn well, try moving to Volkl's super side-cut skis.  You should look at the top performance woman's ski to give you a more forgiving ride while still carving good turns.  To use it for slalom and GS, get a slightly shorter ski than you would use in GS normally.

Since this ski will have a wide tip and tail, it will float okay in powder, but will perform best on groomed slopes.

If you do not need the "snap and pop" from turn to turn you get in your Volkls, you could also try the super side-cut skis from Solomon and Atomic.

Please write back, if you have additional question.  Enjoy your skiing!
