college diving eligibility and timing

Question
First let me thank you for your information that I read in answer to Kathy's question.  It is the first really helpful information I have been able to find on line.  Too many sites that seem too hokey to trust the information.  So thanks.

Now my question.  My daughter is a junior in high school.  She has been a medium level diver due to some minor injuries.  None career ending, just bad timing.  A broken finger, a sore back, that sort of thing.  That coupled with a coach who pays a great deal of attention to his star diver, I feel a bit lost with no where to go.  Now that she is healthy again and able to dive fully.

First I need to know if she has the right scores to apply to schools and will they look at her senior year schedule or are clubs all they look at. She can dive 1 and 3 meter.

I don't know enough about any of the schools or how it works to get started.  I honestly don't know where the bar is set to ask if she is eligible.  I realize there are different divisions and there are differences between full or partial scholarships and just being on a team.  Anything you could tell me would help.

Thanks for your help.

Answer
Joannie -

I think I can help you better if you give me some more information on your daughters diving background. Please ask a follow up question with this info:

1. You say you need to know if she has the right scores to apply to schools. Do you mean her diving meet scores (high school/club) or her academic testing scores?

2. Send me her current diving list on both the 1 and 3 meter. Please use diving numbers and letters to describe the dives. College coaches are mainly interested in her optional dives but send her entire list.

3. Tell me the types of meets she has been in (high school and club) along with her scores.

4. Tell me if she is interested in only Division I colleges or will she consider Division II or III schools.

In general, college coaches are interested in how well she does in club meets and how hard her optionals degree of difficulty is. The upcoming spring and summer club meet season is her most important time to shine as opposed to her senior year schedule.

I look forward to your follow up question and will help you understand the recruiting process the best I can.
