diving lessons in Boston area

Question
My son is entering his sophmore year in high school in the Boston area, and last year for the first time tried springboard diving for his high school varsity team, did very well, and was sent on to compete in the regional finals.  Since he is so new to this, he would really benefit from some lessons.  With all the colleges in the Boston area, is the source or recommendation to find an appropriate coach for some private or group lesson for him?  Thanks

There are several programs in the area that you live that offer various lesson programs for your son to join. They are found by going to these websites:

www.usadiving.org. Click on Clubs and then Find A Club. Enter MA and a list of teams will come up. One is the Charles River team run by the coach from Harvard. There are other teams listed there also that you should look into and see which is best for him. While at this website, click on Parents and look up info on what club diving is about. Click on Store and there are educational items you or he may be interested in.

www.aaudiving.org. Click on Diving Sport Contacts. When the map comes up, click on number 2 for New England. Joe Chirico runs Boston Area Diving. www.gobad.com. He is a very successful coach you should try out. He also has a website, www.usadiver.com, that has info on diving.

Other diving websites:

www.diving.about.com. Site that explains the sport.

www.flipnrip.com - Site for divers and families.

Good luck in your search.
