Swim training

Question
Hi, I am an ex-high school swimmer and was average at best, swimming a 24 flat 50 and 54 flat 100 free. i am now a sophomore in college and looking to get back into sprint free on the college club team. i have only been lifting since graduating. what kind of dryland workouts can i do to get into the best sprint shape possible given i'v got about 2-3 months and have the time to put into and love a hard workout. thanks for your advice,
Michael

Answer
Michael--
If you are lifting weights, remember that swimming isn't a bulky muscle sport, you want to be strong but you want the muscles to be stretchable also.  Work on strengthening your lats, triceps and abs.  You want to work your arms in the same general directions that they will perform in the pool.  Lat pull downs, tricep curls, etc.  If their is a trainer available, or even the swim coach(if there is one) ask them for some suggestions.
The thing about sprinting is that a lot of it is just refining your technique.  Especially starts and turns, if they are slow the swim will be slow.
If you need more help let me know I will see what I can do.
