Too many old guys!!!!

Question
Hey David

Im very excited that the Rock is returning to the ring. I'm not excited to see Kevin Nash, the whole angle with HHH  is boring and not putting anyone over. Couldn't someone else use a rub from HHH like a young guy who has a longer future in the wwe. Also I hear rumors of Mick foley, Jerico and even HBK in some form will be returing to the WWE.  I love of three guys but let's not over do it with guys that doesn't have many years left. I think the WWE should use the attraction of the Rock to bring  focus on it's young talent, maybe fans that left when Rock left will see a wrestler that they like and won't stop watching after Rock time is over. David what is your position on bringing in old guys for other purposes then putting young talent over?

Answer
Hi Darrell.  Thanks for the question.  I apologize for the late reply.  I thought I had switched my settings to not receive any questions for a time period, since I was busy traveling for my job, and didn't have a lot of free time.

Anyway, I don't like bringing in the older guys if they are taking the spotlight away from the younger guys.  If they are coming in to put over the younger guys, that is one thing.  However, if you have a situation like Triple H and Nash, that is another.

I don't see guys like Nash or Mick Foley really helping anything, although I don't think Foley is going to be wrestling that much, if any.  Nash in small doses might be ok, but he isn't going to work a full time schedule, and I don't see him really working with the younger guys too much.

I'm not even a fan of the Rock coming back, unless it would be on a more consistent basis.  I had no problem with him coming back for WrestleMania this year, but putting him the main event next year a whole year in advance is pushing it for me.  To top it off, we hardly heard from him from the day after WrestleMania until right around Survivor Series.

You mentioned Michaels and Jericho.  Although I don't see Michaels coming back as a wrestler, I don't think I would have a problem with Jericho.  I think he still has some good years left in him if he really wanted to dedicate himself to wrestling and put some of his outside interests on hold.  Jericho could put on a great match with anybody, and I don't think he would have a problem working with a younger wrestler and putting him over.

Thanks again for the question.  Sorry again for the delay.  Let me know if you have anything else.

Have a great day!

Dave
