how wrestlers appear in ring

Question
I've always wondered how wrestlers like the undertaker can just appear in the ring the lights go off. I've seen this answered on here before. One guy says they are under the ring already. Or they have a trapped door. Well I want a real logical answer. I've seen the undertaker appear in the ring at the end of an event that is held at a hockey arena...Meaning that A.there can't be a trapped door(its ice under the ring) and B.He would have to have been under the ring since before the fans entered the building up to 5 hours before he came out.  Is there a more realistic answer or do u think he actually stayed under there for hours and then wrestled a 20-30 minute match?

Answer
Hi Chad.

There have been instances of trap doors being used, or wrestlers being under the ring for an entire show.

This is what happens a majority of the time now:  at some point during the show, during a break between matches, there will be a promo or advertisement on the video screen, and the lights will be be turned off.  At this point, what appears to be the ring crew will make their way to ring, along with the wrestler who will eventually come up from under the ring.  The wrestler will get under the ring while the lights are still off, so nobody sees him.

Instead of spending the entire night under the ring, it might only be for a few minutes, or a couple of matches at the most.

Have a great night!

Dave
