getting into a wrestling school

Question
Hello Mr. Boge my name is Roger and I'm 16 years old and I was wanting to know a couple things.

1. I love Pro Wrestling more than anything else abd I would like to make a living in that profession one day but I was born with a couple disabilities but iam very knowledgable with the wrestling holds and moves and I can do alot of them. So I was just wondering If I have a shot in wrestling even with my problems.

2.I want to know if there is a wrestling school in indiana that will take in 16 year olds.

THANK YOU!

Answer
How are you doing Roger?

With not knowing what your specific disabilities are, wrestling can be a cruel place.  I had a referee that I trained that had only one arm (the gimmick was that from time to time, he would get knocked out and people would use his prosthetic arm as a weapon).  You are only limited by disabilities if you let them disable you.

I will say that anything that has to do with breathing or heartbeat will probably take you out of the wrestling world as an active wrestler.  Same with back or coordination problems.  However, that does not mean you can't be in the capacity of a referee, a manager, commentator, or some of the other non-glorious jobs in wrestling that are in front of the curtain.

Now thinking you are knowledgeable about holds and moves and actually truly knowing them and being safe with them are two different things...If you go to a wrestling school saying you already know the moves, they will not be very kind to you.  Go in ignorant and say nothing.

Indiana from what I've heard does not take anybody that is not 18.  However, a simple google search with the search string saying, "Professional Wrestling Schools in (your home town)" I'm sure you could find some schools to talk to and see what they say.

I hope this helps
