Question
QUESTION: I want to ask how much do Japanese wrestling promotions such as new japan pro wrestling or all japan pro wrestling pay their wrestlers.Do they have pro wrestling schools/Dojos if yes how much do you have to pay them. And is it necessary to know Japanese language to be taught or they can teach you there if you know English.

ANSWER: Lol, like the ROH name you used.

I've heard the Japanese promotions pay their guys very well, but I couldn't tell you an exact amount. They are no where near WWE type money, but they pay well. Now, top people who come in make more than the home grown guys, unless they are big Japanese names of course. So a guy like KENTA will get paid more because he's a big guy from there, while a guy coming up will make significantly less.

They pay those big name guys a few grand per match. I've heard of a 10K match for guys like Lesnar and Angle. But of course they are top names in the wrestling world and global icons already.

The younger talent make a few hundred per match. But the thing you need to know is, they do pay more if you're under contract with them. But you can't go to any other promotion. A lot of people like the variety. Some of these places are true rivals and won't let you work for them if you worked for another company that hurt them in some way.

But that does seem to be dying down. Now, top Indy names can make pretty well here. So, ROH guys like to go over there for instance. A guy like Bryan Danielson would make a few grand per match because people wanted to see him. But when he began, he didn't make that much. During his top Indy run, he made that much everywhere, and Japan was no different.

They do not pay for guys to train. But they have the best wrestling schools in the world. I would obviously invest time in learning Japanese, as the trainers may know English as well as some wrestlers. But the fans won't, and you need to be able to connect to them

QUESTION: How much do you have to pay to be tough in a dojo

Answer
Well that's hard to answer. Toughness is in the person, and no amount of money can buy that. Nor can it buy heart.

Japan One, ZERO One as it's mainly called, does 5 day a week training, for multiple hours every day. And it would be tough to work any day but the weekend. Most guys who have already trained in basics come here to polish up their craft. KENTA passed through here for instance.

Of course Dragon's Gate has Ultimo Dragon training people from time to time, so that is a massive name to learn from.

Payment is uncertain, as you have to contact them and find out. Most rarely release prices for their Japanese places, and you must talk to them first to see what you're requiring training wise.

So find the school you want to go to, and contact them. Most run a few grand though, so anything under a thousand dollars is not uncommon for top training areas in Japan
