Yes, pro wrestling is scripted, in a sense that the winners and losers of the matches are determined ahead of time.  Depending on the wrestlers involved, the match itself might be scripted move for move, or in the case of wrestlers very familiar with each other, a lot of the match might be done on the fly, with only the high spots being scripted out.

WWE and TNA are both like most regular TV shows, in that they have a writing team who come up with ideas and script out the shows.

That doesn't mean wrestling is entirely fake.  The wrestlers aren't really trying to hurt each other, but that doesn't mean some of the moves don't hurt.  There's just a certain way of doing each move without seriously hurting each other.

Also, chairshots are real, and most of the time, the blood is too.
