wrestling school and help

Question
Hi, im 17 years old and need help to get in the pro wrestling business. Can you help me with great wrestling schools in kissimmee and orlando that will actually help me to be a wrestler and not just take my money and have a good reputation? One that will actually train me in ring. thanks

Answer
Hello Shawn,

Wrestling schools have different approaches and what works for others may not work for you. That's what makes this question impossible to answer with any 100% guarantee that the schools will be suitable for you. I can provide suggestions, but make your own conclusions before you go to the school. Get in touch and see for yourself. if it doesn't impress you, look elsewhere. Without knowing you personally, I cannot say whether the school's priorities and approaches are in line with yours, but I can definitely give you a starting point.

If I recall, you were the one that had a bad experience at Team 3D's academy and asked a question about that. That was in the question pools, but I was too busy to do anything about it. Unfortunately, other than that school, none in Kissimmee come to mind. As for Orlando, there are schools.

Judging from that previous question and this one, I get the feeling you will prefer some of the other schools in Orlando. Team 3D's school is very different in that it isn't really meant for new students, but rather from wrestlers who have already finished pro wrestling school and then wish to further work on refinement. For new wrestlers, the pace can be too slow for their needs and doesn't necessarily give the broad training they want so they can get started. It looks like that approach just didn't work for you, which is perfectly understandable. It isn't an approach shared by the other schools in Orlando, so you should find something you like.

These two schools in particular might be worth a look for you:

PWF抯 International Pro Wrestling Academy (Pro Wrestling FUSION)

I BELIEVE IN WRESTLING Training Center (I BELIEVE IN WRESTLING, Full Impact Pro, Pro Wrestling Riot)
649 West Livingston Street, Orlando City,
Orlando, Florida,

They've got a fairly good reputation, but all that really means is that for the students the schools are suited to, good results are achieved. The promotions the schools are affiliated with have turned out some consistently good shows. Of course, you won't know 100% whether the school is truly good for you or not until you start. Still, you can try to be fairly sure about the school before paying anything. Personal contact is the only way to find out their personalities (which influences how much you learn from their teaching style and how much you feel comfortable or uncomfortable).

I BELIEVE IN WRESTLING does not give details on their site about payment. You have to email for that. They give very little details at all, actually. Most of the page about training is a picture, which nonetheless tells you a bit. They state the general training times, the trainers and the location, plus the sentence "Space is limited to guarantee maximum ring time." That appears to mean that the student numbers are kept relatively small.

PWF's school has a poster that claims they have 'reasonable rates,' but that is rather vague.  They also say they have 24-hour training, which can come in handy. This link: http://www.prowrestlingfusion.com/2009/01/12/inteview-with-tommy-taylor/ tells you a bit about the PWF academy. I don't know about the other school, but at PWF they claim to make the fundamentals a focus. Your experience at other schools might make that a bit tiresome, if you've already been through that, but there is a reason why the fundamentals are called that. Most schools put focus on it, the question is what degree.
