Go on a family camping holiday this year

2016/7/26 11:24:10

Camping is the ideal way to spend a family holiday, as both children and teenagers will love being able to explore the wilderness and fend for themselves for the duration of your break. You can enjoy some fun-filled walks, go cycling as a family and then play some campfire games with one another once you return to your campsite.

Wherever you plan on staying for your camping trip though, you will need to start thinking about everything that you need to take with you quite far in advance if you want to be able to remember it all. Camping with your family can be a little trickier than with friends, as there is likely to be a lot more things that you will have to carry with you. This can range from nappies for especially young children to toys, as your children will still want to have something to play with while they are on holiday.

Of course, the first thing you should sort out is your tent. Even if a friend or relative has a tent that you can borrow for your trip, it is always better to buy your own. Not only will this mean that you will have a tent available if you ever choose to go camping again, but it will also mean that you don抰 need to worry so much about losing any of the parts or damaging it in any way.

It is always better to buy a tent that is larger than you really need it to be, rather than making do with a smaller one. For instance, just because your family can fit into a four-man tent doesn抰 mean that it will make for a comfortable night抯 sleep. In this case, you might prefer to go for a six-man tent so that everyone has a bit of room to themselves. There are even tents that have separate 憆ooms? so you could all have a bit more privacy. Remember to pack comfortable sleeping bags and pillows for everyone as well.

In order to cook good meals every night, you should take a camping stove or disposable BBQs with you, but only if you are allowed to use them on the campsite. Along with this, take disposable cutlery and plates and remember to tidy your pitch up when you are ready to leave, disposing of any rubbish you may have left behind.

Other essentials include a foldaway table and chairs, a torch for each member of the family, waterproof jackets, wellies or walking boots, a map of the area, bottles of water and suncream, even if you抣l be camping in the wintertime!
