What You Put In Your Bug Out Bag Could Mean Life Or Death

In the current world stage, scandal, incertitude and dangers are always around the corner. Whether it be wars, financial meltdown, or natural disasters such as floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, or volcanoes eruptions. It is very probably that sometime during our lifetime things will in fact deteriorate to the point of a life threatening situation for ourselves and our families. In a case such as this, you should be prepared to stay bunker down in your home. However, this is not always the case. In countlessscenarios, you may have no choice but to evacuate your place immediately. In such situations a bug out bag or Grab and Go Bag can make the difference between life and death for you, your family and even your neighbors.
A bug out bag should contain survival gear such as water supplies, can food and freeze dried food supplies, a multifunctional survival knife, a portable radio, flash light and batteries, an emergency first aid kit and much more. The supplies should last for you and your family at least 72 hours. You should pack your bug out bag for use rather than for comfort and its weight should be carry-able by the average person. Survival kits are also useful for any outdoor enthusiast. They can vary in size large kits designed for group survival to small kits suitable to be carried in a pocket.

Preparing your survival gear is essential and even the smallest kit can be a precious help in difficult situations. On the inventory list you should include items such as a fire starter flint, waterproof match container, fuel type fire starter, signal mirror, compass, blankets, fishing line and fishing tackle, rescue breather, anti-diarrhea medication, drinking water tablets, energy bars, coffee can, plastic bags, aluminum foil, survival manual, survival knife, and long burn candles. Make sure you pack everything in a waterproof bag. By preparing in advance you make sure that you will be able to take care of the basic needs for yourself and for your family.

The survival gear should include a first aid kit, as well. Your medical emergency kit should focus on two main areas: mobility and trauma. Traumatic injuries possible in a bug out situation include vehicle collisions, burns, broken bones, falls from heights, arterial bleeding, knife wounds, gunshot wounds, and blunt impact wounds. Mobility injuries can have different degrees of severity and they include knee injuries, ankle sprains, blisters, torn ligaments, broken bones, and frostbitten extremities. Being able to treat any of these trauma and mobility injuries is essential for your survival. You can build your first aid kit yourself or you may buy a premade kit online or from a sporting goods store. The premade first aid kits are an easier choice because they have everything you need pre-packed for you but do it
yourself kits are a cheaper alternative.
