Walking for health

Question
I am a survivor of 'Fallot's tetrollogy',but have been left with scars on the heart causing premature ventricular contravtions (irregular heartbeat)and a Prolapsed valve ( I take Medication to correct the irregular beat}
I am now walking 5 miles,three times a week.
i began walking at a casual pace for aprox. 4/10 of a mile (10-15 minutes).
I then walk the next 4 or so miles at just under a trot only slowing down when my legs hurt.
and finally slowing down to 'cool down' to finish up 5 miles.
My question is...
All my life my Dr's have told me to 'do what I feel I can...'so is this enough or should I be pushing harder.
I'm getting into my 40's and feel my youth slipping and frankly want it back!
 all i want to do is live a long time without having to give up the little things (Bacon, Beer,burritos) I'm not overweight,My choleserol is good and I think my circulation is ok (with corpal tunnel its hard to tell curculation problems from nerve problems).
I WILL keep walking, But is it enough?

Answer
HI ICON
EVEN  WALKING A LITTLE BIT A DAY IS BETTER THAN NOTHING AT ALL?
KEEP WALKING AND DO NOT FEEL YOUR CHEATING YOURSELF IN NOT GOING FURTHER AS A TEEN WOULD DO SO OR ONE IN THEIR TWENTYS.
SET GOALS AND WORK TO ACHIEVE THEM.  DO NOT OVER SET GOALS HOWEVER AT YOUR AGE.  I FEEL YOUR DOING JUST FINE, KEEP IT UP AND YOUR GOING TO BE IN HEALTHY AND FINE CONDITION.
KEEPING OUR MUSCLE AND ORGAN THE HEART WORKING HEALTHY IS WALKING DAILY IF  ONE MILE OR TWENTY, JUST WALK AND FORGET ABOUT HOW MUCH.
YOUR NOT GOING TO TURN THE CLOCK BACK MUCH AS I WOULD LOVE JUST TEN YEARS, IT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN SO LIVE ON AND ENJOY WHAT U HAVE LEFT AS WE ALL DO DAY BY DAY.
