My greatest day of fishing!!

It was my friend Jeff and I, we knew it was gonna be a long day.  The plan for today was to get some footage of salmon spawning in Bowmanville Creek (for those who don't know it's  45 east of Toronto) then I had a small helicopter take me around certain area's of the Kawartha Lakes region for aerial shots then fish afterwords.  Sounds like a lot to fit in one day I know.  We were getting ready to leave Bowmanville to head to Peterborough Airport and I figured I would call the pilot to confirm and he told me that someone else canceled so he couldn't make it.  I had my hopes up and was ready to go so I asked him if there's anyway to go up today?  He said it was only possible if I can make it to Collingwood (and for those who don't know that's about 1 1/2 hours  north of Toronto).  I know a spot out there that is good fishing so I figured I could get some footage of that lake and fish afterwords.  So we made it almost into Toronto and the pilot txts me and says " I now can make it to Haliburton, if that's that's easier" with a little smiley face.  Haliburton is 2 1/2 hours North east of Toronto.  At this point 45 minutes ago I thought I was going to Peterborough then to Collingwood now Haliburton and drove 45 minutes the opposite way.  I looked up the airport and noticed that it is right beside a lake that I fished before and hooked into some nice fish  Frustrated and determined we decided to go!  Once we were 5 minutes away the pilot calls me and says that there is no landing at that airport so he landed at Muskoka Airport and if I can make it there? (which is 1 hour west of Haliburton)  I thought he was joking at first but nope he was serious. It was a small airport so I decided to go in and see what the deal was.  They were very nice people and said he could land for fuel only, the pilot never specified why he  wanted to land.  So I called him and told him to that he can come refuel here after we go up.  An hour drive so in the chopper it's only 10 minutes.  After we go up and I see the lake that I fished a long time ago, I just couldn't wait to fish it!  We were out there a bit and didn't get nothing then we hit a long patch of reeds and beside it was a drop off straight down to about 60 feet. so I figured the Largemouth would be here feeding at this time. I started using a buzzbait which usually isn't my first lure of choice. Nothing for  one hole side of the reed bed, so I was debating on moving to another spot.  I Decided to stay and fish the rest of the reeds. I switched to a spinner-bait, dark gold. First cast I seen a smallmouth following my lure but it was back about 10 feet, so I tried slowing down the presentation but still kept it about 3-4 inches under the surface.  I like it there cause it just breaks the surface and you still get the vibration without having to flutter the blades every 2 seconds.  Once I slowed it down they were all over it!  I landed some nice smally's ranging from 2-5 pounds.  Then I had a monster smally grab my bait jump out of the air and spit my lure out. Everyone has their own fish story well this is mine, except my fish story has the video!!  My friend doesn't fish so he was holding the camera at the time and I asked him if he was pointing the cam in that direction. It was a GoPro camera so there is no live feed because it has a under water housing. I seen the fish so I knew it was really big so as soon as we got to the car, I threw the card in my computer and and checked it out and the fish is visible!  Great day of fishing and one to remember!
