Golf Clubs – Public or Private?

2016/7/19 14:22:53

One of the many dilemmas of a golfer is to deciding between private and public golf courses. It is a deep thought process that asks the golfers to think whether they should spend a lot of money on acquiring membership of a private club or playing at a public course. Both the private and public clubs have their own set of advantages and disadvantages. In the general term, there is no right or wrong answer but all depends on your needs and what you are looking for.

A public course is ideal for those who do not play very often and hence, don't like to spend money unnecessarily. Of course, what is the sense in paying a hefty amount every month when it doesn't get used? If you are not a regular golfer and do not take part in tournaments more than once a week during summers, and do not play often during winters, then a public course is the economic option. In another case, if you are finding yourself getting bored playing at the same eighteen holes course then you can definitely experience some change with the public course.

A private luxury club is the best option for a golfer who loves to play multiple times during a week throughout the year. Here, money will definitely be saved in the long run by paying a fixed amount of fees on membership or a cart pass than to paying dollars for every round. Plus, you can get all the facilities and enjoy luxurious treatment while playing at the club.

The social atmosphere of a private club makes it highly attractive. Not only you and your friends or family can go out and play at the best courses, but you are provided with the opportunity to meet and play with people with similar interests. These clubs provide a great place for networking and to make good connections with some elite members of the society.

Many of the private clubs also organize special member tournaments which are always fun to participate in. Some leagues also have events when you have the chance to play at other courses against players from different courses. As the special package, these clubs also provide some special holiday packages with all the luxurious treatment to enjoy with family.

Depending on what facilities you are looking for or how much money you are willing to spend, you can decide between the public and private luxury club. However, a good research is highly needed.
