A Golf Concierge? What is THAT?

2016/7/19 14:25:22

Think about the typical golf trip.  The travel agent hands you off to the airline.  The airline hands you and your luggage off to a cab driver, who hands you off to the hotel.  The hotel pretty much just checks you in and throws a buffet breakfast at you.  Somehow you make it to the course, where the pro just checks you in, gives you a smile, takes your money and sends you off to the first tee.  The rangers and cart girls take it from there.

You are passed around from one person to the next, hoping against all hope that nothing goes wrong.

Have you ever been on a golf trip and had something go wrong?  It might be something as simple as leaving your putter on yesterday's course, or it might be as serious as having to get someone to the doctor.

What do you do, and just as important, who can do it?

And what about the trivial things?  Maybe getting a prescription filled, or getting dinner reservations for tonight.  Many of us on a golf trip will need to book an extra round of golf, last minute, for that afternoon.

True golf concierge service is rare to come by, unless you use services from http://www.bucketlistgolftour.com.  Can you imagine walking into the pro shop at a great course and asking the pro to make dinner reservations?  Can your reservation person at the resort call that great private course and get your group on in the afternoon?  Can your caddie get your prescription filled?  Will the teaching pro come out and take pictures of your group on the famous 17th tee box?  Of course not.  And by the way, they don't want you to ask.

With an on-site golf concierge, all things are possible, if not probable.  Imagine a flawless golf trip, where someone in your group handled all of the following with a smile on his face:

  • Check-in and check-out
  • Handicaps
  • Communications
  • Finances (collection and distribution)
  • Tee times
  • Logistics and ground transfers
  • Air travel and itineraries
  • Club storage
  • Tournament and games
  • Photography
  • Social sharing via private mobile app
  • Reservations for dinners
  • Any emergencies that occur
  • 24/7 accessibility for any reason
  • Post trip surveys and communication

Sound to good to be true?  Not for a seasoned professional that knows the lay of the land.  Combined with a flawless trip planning process, you could assure that all of your expectations are met.

Trip captains have always had to do the best they could, while trying to enjoy the trip that they invested significant time and effort to play.  With an on-site concierge, every trip participant could leave all of those headaches to someone else.
