What You Should Consider Before Shopping for Electronic Golf Trolley Batteries?

2016/7/19 14:29:47

Knowing what should be your consideration before you go to shop for an electronic golf trolley battery is crucial. The battery is available in various sizes and with different type of connections. You will have to measure the size of your present battery in order to find out a suitable replacement successfully. There are different makes and models of golf trolleys which won't operate unless until they are connected with the right battery. You should look for a battery which has the same length, width, height and battery power as your existing one. Your chosen battery should not mismatch in all these above attributes as it may not fit your golf trolley. Again, you will have to check whether your battery has a common Torberry connector or more special "T-Bar" connector as you will need a battery that connects to your golf trolley properly and keeps it in motion.

Another important point to consider is how long your golf session will continue. If you play more often no matter whether it is winter or rain, then you need golf cart batteries that will last longer. The power capacity of a battery is measured in Ah (Amp/hour). You can choose 12v-22Ah batteries to play 18 holes in golf field. If your golf sessions are long and played in hilly or rocky areas then you will require a battery with more power, probably 26 Ah or more. Your power requirement will be as high as 33 Ah if you want to play 36 holes without recharging your battery. Such a battery will continue for longer period and you will face no hassle in completing your rounds in golf session.

There are two types of golf trolley batteries. Absorbed Glass Mat is the most commonly used golf battery with wider plates that discharge after completing a few rounds of golf. However, the latest designed AGM batteries perform better and can continue up to 300 charge cycles. These batteries come at cheaper rates than gel cell batteries.

Gel cell golf batteries cost more and perform better in rocky areas. They continue up to 350 charge cycles and are available in highly durable plastic covers. You don't have to maintain these batteries which can be used for moving your trolley in any direction. So, you won't have to bother about losing more charge of your battery on running your cart in upward or downward direction.

Golf trolley batteries are made to get discharged fully after a few rounds of golf and then get recharged for your use again. They hardly get damaged in the discharging and charging process. With a special kind of charger, these batteries get recharged and get ready to support you again.
