Play Like A Pro

Golf is more than a sport, it’s a way of life. At least it is for me and I’m sure many of you out there feel the same way. It is one of the most glorious games…..at times. Other times I want to break all my clubs and sink them to the bottom for the nearest water hazard. Over the years though, I have learned some tips and drills to make those terrible times a little more bearable. In this article I will give you these tips and lessons to help you improve your game. Now I’m no Butch Harmon or Hank Haney but I’m a scratch golfer and I have taught many people how they can improve their game in a short time.

Golf lessons are hard to come by. And not very cheap either. You can search youtube as much as you want but that can only get you so far. Everybody is different, everyone has a different swing, different grip, etc. The pros can teach you good habits and techniques but they don’t really know what your style is. Believe me I was in your shoes not so long ago. You think you have everything figured out and then clank…..another one in the water.

The best piece of advise I ever got was from an old man that played at a golf course I worked at. He used to come in everyday and drink coffee and stare at the course. He knew the course better than most of you know the backs of your hands. He had played it a million times probably but he treated it like it was new every time he stepped on the tee. He used to tell me stories of different times he played and all the different courses he played. I never knew just how good he was until he asked me to play a few holes one day after my shift. After about four holes he was kicking my ass and he was 60 years older than I was. Yeah I could outdrive him but his approaches were something I had never seen before and the thing that got me the most that no matter what kind of shot he hit, his emotions never changed. He always had a smile on his face and that is where the true key to success lies.

As we were walking down the 18th fairway he looked over at me with that same smile he had from the first tee, which was kind of annoying me now because he was beating me to a pulp, but he turned to me and said something I’ll never forget. He said, “You know why I love this game?” I had no clue and stood there with a blank look on my face. He quickly responded and said, “You can play this game over and over and never play it alike twice. You can have the same shots but it won’t be exactly like last time.” I went home and thought about that for the rest of the night and you know what he was exactly right in more ways than one. Golf courses breathe and move just as humans do. Every person’s body is different from day to day and so are the courses. That is why you can play amazing one day and play like dog shit the next using the exact same tips and lessons you used to shoot the round of your life. With my help, you can have an entire book of recipes for success by learning how your body coincides with the golf course and nature.

Golf is one of the most amazing sports and with my help you will be able to understand just what it takes to become the golfer you want to be. Whether that be shooting the best round of your life or just trying to keep up with your friends. I believe it was Sam Snead who said that golf is played on a five inch course and it’s right in between your ears. I will help you master the mental aspect it takes to become the player you have always wanted to be. The best part about this is that it is free. I will have many more articles on this aspect and more so read on and learn how to become one of the greats.
