Steps To Help Achieve The 300+ Yards Tee Shots

Beginning at golf many golfers may find that they hit the ball more accurately with less powerful shots, this is usually because if we are focussed on belting the ball as hard as possible then our stance can change, the speed of the swing can alter the swinging plane and usually end up with a shot that goes way off to the left or right albeit very quickly!

Hitting a solid tee shot and getting it to go the distance is what will help you on longer holes such as Par 5 holes. If you can soar over the majority of the course from one well-aimed drive then you can set yourself up for a birdie or even an eagle to help give you an advantage over your opponents. There are a few tips you can practice down at your driving range, where there are also handy distance markers to measure your tee shots.

First of all you should make sure that before any tee shot that you are relaxed, excellent drivers include Tiger Woods and Ernie Els. Tiger in particular is a living master class in good driving technique as his swing motion is very loose and fluid. Make sure your grip is loose; many believe that a tight grip will help boost power but this can often be what skews your shots to the side.

Another key tip is that you can gleam from watching any golf professionals are that they keep their heads down throughout the entire swing. You should keep your eyes on where the ball is and not follow the ball with your eye, keeping a locked target on where you want to hit the ball will help you make the best possible contact with the ball, sending it barrelling down the fairway.

Transferral of your body weight through your swing is important as much as it is in boxing, in order to hit the ball further you need to put your entire body weight behind the swing. Much like how a boxer trains to put their full bodyweight behind their punches a golfer should switch their body weight from their back foot to their front foot to add significant power to their golf shots. It can take some practice to get the timing and motion right for hitting the ball further, luckily this is why driving ranges were created, to help you hone your skills and gain extra distance.

With practice and possibly expert tuition you should start seeing your tee shots not only stay on course but slowly start to land further down the fairway than they used to.

Mastering your Tee shots can help lower your golf handicap, make sure you keep your driver in top condition and protect it against damage or theft with golf club insurance.
