Get a handicap to get an idea of how to improve your game of golf

2016/7/20 14:33:16

The game of golf can frustrate many inexperienced and veteran players alike. A poor round of golf can discourage many players from enjoying the game and without proper instruction they could be playing the game incorrectly and be stuck with the same problems. One of the best ways to measure your performance is to get your handicap made official, this way you’ll be able to monitor and track your progress.

Getting your handicap recognised has many benefits, the most obvious one being that you will be able to see how you are performing and can use it to see how you are improving your game. Obviously most golfers begin with a high handicap which they will no doubt want to start bringing down and so getting your handicap calculated can help you see how far you’ve got to go before you can start thinking of yourself as a golf pro!

One of the most important benefits is that you will be able to play at a wider range of golf courses. Some golf courses and clubs will only allow players on with a certain handicap or at the very least players who actually have a recognised handicap. This is often the case when you want to play as a guest of a club member so that the club knows you are serious about your golf.

A lot of golf tips and tuition videos available online will have techniques, drills and tips that can help reduce your handicap, whilst it may sound a bit too good to be true it is by practising these little tips that your performance will improve and eventually start to bring your handicap down.

Getting your handicap recognised is not nearly as complicated as some people think. There are companies that can calculate your handicap by simply recording your last three rounds of golf. Some companies vary between how many you need to submit but the more cards you submit, the more accurate your handicap will be.

Whether you want to take part in amateur competitions or just want to get an idea of how good a golfer you are becoming, an accurately calculated golf handicap is vital.

Check out the golf tuition videos online to get tips on how to lower your official golf handicap. If you’re yet to get your handicap then try the online golf handicap calculators that are available.
