Golf Cart Battery

Golf Cart Battery

With the invention of the electric golf cart golf cart battery came to life. Now many people convert their gas golf cart to an electric golf cart. Because electric golf cart has some real advantages and it’s the new fashion. One of the best advantages is electric golf cart does not do any kind of environment pollution. No gas emissions and no sound in electric golf carts.
But the disadvantages in an electric golf cart are the golf cart battery problems. You have to always keep the battery in a very good condition.

The main problem faced by golf cart battery is the recharging problem. Golf cart battery doesn’t get recharged while you drive the golf cart. So after a full day drive battery is almost dead. So for a regular use you have to recharge it like each night. This may be a pain in the ass for a busy person and it’s hard on the acid battery and can result in a shortened battery life. So to extend the battery life you have to pay an extra care on your golf cart battery with repair and revitalize when they show signs of age.

You have to clean the golf cart battery in a regular basis. When you are cleaning always wear protection clothes (gloves and goggles) because battery acid can destroy anything in a short time so you have to cover your skin and eyes. Clean the corrosion, dirt off the batteries, with a solution made of baking soda and water (mix 2 tablespoons of baking soda into 1 quart of water and stir well). Clearly examine on each battery for cracks or damages. If there are any remove those batteries immediately.
Remove the plastic caps that cover the cells of the batteries. Examine each golf cart battery cell and add distilled water to any cell in which the plates are exposed to the air. Add enough water to cover all plates. Check the charge in the morning if the golf cart battery is full charged add distilled water as required and close caps of the battery.

If the golf cart battery is not fully charged you need a mechanic or you can have some home remedies as well. Open the golf cart battery in the edge and make the battery acid run out of each cell into a plastic container. Then clean the golf cart battery using the solution you made with baking soda, use a paint brush for this. And after that fill the golf cart battery with plain water but make sure the water doesn’t get into any battery cells.
Mix 8 ounces of Epsom salts into 2 quarts of warm distilled water. Stir well. Fill each battery cell with the Epsom salts solution until the cells are completely covered.
We use epsom salts because they remove deposits on the battery. These deposits are the things that prevent the golf cart battery from charging full.
But if you are going to try this method, for the first time you have to take expert advice. And you must be extra cautious in your clothing (goggles and gloves.)

I’m complete insane about golf. I’ve written many articles about Golf Cart and Golf Cart Battery
