Holidays to Bermuda - The Island抯 Prestigious Golf Courses.

Golf has always been associated with holidays to Bermuda, and with prestigious courses on the island, it’s not hard to see why. You can find the best here.

Holidays to Bermuda have long been associated with golf – and it’s not hard to see why. Of course, the weather is a big factor because most golfers, even if they don’t always admit it, prefer playing in sunshine and under blue skies rather than slogging through the dull and wet grey of a typical British round.

Yet the big factor that ranks holidays to Bermuda so highly with golfers is the sheer quality of the courses on offer here. A selection of some of the most prestigious venues is given below.

Port Royal Golf

Providing 18 championship holes over more than 6,800 yards, Port Royal is widely considered to be Bermuda’s most picturesque golf course.

Much of the course runs along the edge of the azure ocean and even the most seasoned golfers will admit that the views can sometimes be distracting. Excellent dining is also available and yes, this is actually a public course.

Tucker’s Point

This is an 18-hole, par-70 course, originally designed in 1932. It too has some stunning vistas over the ocean but also some beautifully hilly and tree-lined terrain.

All facilities are provided including an excellent driving range and practice centre plus GPS-guided buggies. A big attraction of Tucker’s Point on golfing holidays to Bermuda is that it also has fully-equipped beach and tennis clubs.

Belmont Hills

Featuring 18-holes on a stunning championship course including 6,100 yards of challengingly laid out bunkers, multi-tiered greens and beautiful tree-lined fairways, the Belmont Hills Golf Course is a stimulating option for players of all handicaps.

What makes this course stand out from the rest is the use of multiple water hazards, which you’d be hard pressed to find on the rest of the island. Visitors point out the 17th and 18th holes as the finest and most enjoyable ones.

Equipment Hire

All of Bermuda’s prestigious golf clubs offer quality equipment hire and have golf shops. Some offer on-site pro coaching and advice.

Golfing Weather / Booking / Rules

There is no rainy season in Bermuda. Its climate is semi-tropical. Showers are relatively common but of short duration. Humidity can be high (around 80-90%) during the peak summer months.

Booking in advance is always advisable on all courses. Dress codes typically apply on all public and membership courses for members and visitors alike. These may be less vigorously enforced on public courses. Handicaps will apply at some courses too.

There may also be rules relating to behaviour and etiquette so it’s worth reading up on these carefully beforehand. Details are usually available on the courses’ websites.

How to Get There

Bermuda is serviced by scheduled British Airways services from London with a typical flight time of around 7 hours. Prestige Holidays provide private transfers to and from the airport.
