How to Control Your Golf Emotion

If I were to ask you for golf directions, what would you need to know?

You'd want to know where I was going to and where I was starting from, right? And if you're going to get more from your golf game, we want the answers to these questions too.

So, stop for a minute, take a piece of paper and divide it up into three colunms. In the left hand column write down the top ten reasons you play golf, the things you love about it, the things that give you most satisfaction. Ideally I'd like you to put them in order, but if you're too impatient, then I can live with that! For some, the most important thing is winning. For others it's playing well. For others it's being out in the open air. Or being with friends. Or improving.

Now, in the middle column, write down all the factors that get in the way of you getting maximum enjoyment from the game.

It could be specific shots like driving or putting your golf balls.
It could be hazards that lure you towards them.
It could be the behaviour of partners or opponents.
It could be weather conditions.
It could be your behaviour towards yourself - you may be always beating yourself up for not being perfect!

Now, next to these in the right hand column, write down how these make you FEEL. It could be angry, frustrated, despondent, anxious when with your Titleist 2010 ap2. It could also be 'positive' emotions such as excited or powerful.

OK, what now? Well you know what it's like when you play out of your skin, you strike the ball perfectly, you roll the putt in from 30 feet? It feels great. And sometimes we absolutely know we are going to nail the shot even before we play it. We have an absence of any form of negative emotion. We actually have an absence of positive emotion too. We are neutral or as it's called 'in the zone'.

To play our best golf, we need to get in the zone. We need to neutralise our powerful emotions that will adversely impact on our ability to play and enjoy the game. Also, there are more golf clubs for sale in our site, and hope to enjoy them.
