Softball Hitting Techniques Coaches will Never Tell You

There are as many softball hitting techniques today as there are softball coaches. But the truth is that most of them would tell you the same things about how to improve your softball hitting. Which isn't a bad thing, of course, because every player needs information like those to help them improve their game and other softball techniques.

And that's the reason too why I'm not going to talk about the stuff that has been talked about by others already. Rather, I'm going to share with you some of the softball hitting techniques that coaches will never tell you. It's not because they want to keep these information from you, but rather many of them aren't aware of what I'm going to talk about. So let's get started. If you're ready, then read on.

  1. You don't have to be perfect to start playing. Softball players have gotten the wrong notion about the saying that practice makes perfect. That is why many of them don't jump into becoming a player until they thing their game is perfect enough. The truth is that no player is ever perfect, and practice is just a means to achieve a certain goal, such as learning a particular softball hitting technique. So pick up your softball bat, start playing and take your game to the next level through practice.
  2. You have to be naturally gifted to be a good player. While there are exceptional softball players with tons of natural talent, practice also plays a huge part in a player's development. Let's say one of the world's top players decided early in her career that she'd want to play basketball instead, then she wouldn't really be the great player she is today because she trained to play on the hardcourt and not on the softball field.
  3. Time helps you overcome your fear. Do you dread going to the softball field every time? The irony of it all is that you should be on the field more often in order for you to overcome your fear of it. That's because you become more familiar with your surrounding and you become more comfortable with the idea of having people watching you play. So don't be scared. Face your fears and you will be able to overcome it eventually once you realize that being on the field isn't as bad as you first thought it would be.

So there you have it. The next time you think that playing softball and learning softball hitting techniques are scary things to do, think again. Understand that things are often scary only at the beginning. And although they don't necessarily get easier with time (training gets harder the more experienced you become), at least you already know what to expect once you go to the field for training or to play a game. It also helps to get the guidance of a good softball hitting coach who will be able to teach you all the techniques you need to learn in a manner that's easy to understand.
