Why Sir Alex Ferguson Signed Robin van Persie

The transfer saga of Arsenal's former captain has moved to an end. RvP who is called brought Arsenal finished on top 3 of EPL last season on his back, is now a Manchester United's player. Something almost impossible, right? The transfer to Manchester United which is Arsenal's rival was very difficult to be done before. The difficulty level maybe almost same with a stunning goal he scored against Liverpool in Anfield last season. It's difficult but van Persie has done it. Just like his transfer to United, Almost impossible to be done, but van Persie did it.

The next question is maybe: Why ferguson was interested to sign him? As we know, Sir Alex consistently enough to run his policy on not to sign someone that has been aged with high price. The last aged player who signed by Sir Alex with high price was Dimitar Berbatov. Now, he might see his door to leave United open bigger than before as RvP coming. Of course the next problem is RvP's injury history. It has been a general issue if this dutchman is an injury prone player. He just showed his best performance in last season, and he became Gooners Favorite player. And after his signing to United, Gooners might be laughing to see Sir Alex Ferguson lament on van Persie who in pain holding his ankle. But, of course Sir Alex has a plan on van Persie signing.

What's his plan?

As we know, Rooney and Welbeck has made a great partnership last season. Their best partnership was against Everton in the Old Trafford. Their ‘Yorke and Cole' goal was fantastic. And the fans started hoping big on Welbeck. But, with the arrival of RvP, the fans start concerned on Welbeck development.

Sir Alex look on hurt about losing title in the last minute last season, he want to get the trophy back this season. He might be using 3 man upfront just like when he had Ronaldo, Tevez, and Rooney. Sir Alex maybe want to have another ‘magician' in addition to Rooney. After Ronaldo left for Madrid, Rooney has been the main player for United. But, he can't do it alone for a season. Sometimes, Rooney lose his best performance. It seemed in the EURO 2012 when he got much pressure from the fans. So, Sir Alex has another option for United. Sir Alex wants to get a proven quality player on EPL, has high scoring number.

Sir Alex and RvP want something same: Trophy. RvP wants to have something that can be proud to his Children. And Sir Alex can smile looking into his house yard when he retires soon.

It's interested to be waited, what formation or strategy that will be used by United. But, one thing that can be estimated now. Facing Rooney and van Persie in one team is not good for a defender.
