Scuba diving is a very popular under water sport. It is performed not only by several people who have interest in exploring the marine life but it is also done on a commercial basis. People indulge in scuba diving not only to explore the life under water for the sake of fun but also for scientific research reasons. Scuba diving gives a chance to go deep down under water and view all the unique and amazing water creatures. We get a glimpse of things that we might not have seen before. Having proper scuba diving equipment makes sure that the diver is safe when he dives deep into the depths of the oceans and seas.

Apart for having proper scuba diving equipment, it is important that the diver undergoes the scuba diving training program before he takes a plunge deep down into the water. There are a number of things that are included in the diving equipment. Having all of them ensures the safety of the scuba diver. A diving mask covers the eyes, nose and mouth of the diver and prevents the water from acting as an obstruction while breathing and seeing under water. It is connected to the air tank that the scuba diver carries along with him. The air tank has a meter which shows the volume of oxygen consumed by the diver and that remaining in the tank.

A wetsuit and fins form a major part of the scuba diving equipment. While a wetsuit acts as an insulator for the divers' body under water, the fins are used to increase the thrusts. Fins are necessary only if the diver is going beyond 30 feet under water. Along with this, a buoyancy compensator ensures that the diver can get to the surface when he wants. It looks like a vest in appearance.

The scuba diving equipment involves a regulator which is used to regulate the oxygen pressure that is being used by the diver to breathe under water. It maintains the supply at a constant pressure. There are a number of regulators that are used while diving into different depths and are chosen considering the same. A diving gauge is used to record the time as well the depth of the water. This information is very necessary in order to keep a track of the scuba diving activity.

Along with all these, it is necessary that the divers follow the instructions that are given to them prior to the diving activity. Also, it is important that the divers are expert in handling the gear that they are going to use. Following all this is sure to make your diving an experience that you will cherish forever.
