my boy is going to highschool and the coach does
not like him to use knee savers what i your thinking on this.  

Answer
I'd love to know the coaches reasoning for not using knee savers... They do not interfere with the catching mechanics in any way, in fact they aid the cather in getting to the throwing position.

Aside from that, every college and pro program that I have been involved with sign the praises of knee savers.  If these top level catchers are using them there must be some credibility.

If you coach can give you a scientific, biomechanical, or performance driven reason go ahead and listen to it, btu I don't think he will have one.
