batters box in fair territory

Question
a ball is hit by a right hand batter directly down in the dirt in the front right corner of the batter's box, ie. the part in fair territory, and hits the dirt first and gets lodged under his front foot, which is in the front right corner, clearly in fair, is he out, or is it a dead or foul ball, because he is protected while still in the batter's box?

Answer
Good day, thanks for the question....

It sounds to me that I would immediately call a foul ball since it came into contact w/ the player's foot in the batter's box.  Although, it may be one of those situations where I would have to see it to make an immediate call....

Thnaks again for the question...

Have a great day....Andy
