Foul ball

Question
If a ball bounces in fair territory before passing third base and then crosses the foul line and is caught by a fielder (before hitting the ground again) in foul territory, is it fair or foul?

Answer
Hi Gregg,

I am assuming the ball did not pass the base, and when the fielder touched the ball it was in foul territory. This is a foul ball. If the ball passes the base (ground ball) it would be fair. But if the ball never gets to the base and crossed over to foul territory where it is then touched, it is a foul ball.

Hope this helps.
Steve
