softball roster rules

Question
I just learned that a player can play on the allstar team for little leage even if they are on a travel team . How does this work if they are then  on two different roster sheets? Iwas always told they could only play on one team if they were sighned to there travel team roster.

Answer
Mark,

Little League has just announced (only two weeks ago I believe) that players may play on a Little League Tournament Team, and participate in other youth baseball/softball activities.

The rule you are talking about has to do with a player in Little League who plays Majors then wants to play Juniors.  In the Little League program they may only be rostered and play in ONE DIVISION.  Travel ball and other youth programs fall into a different category.

Please remember that if a player is participating on a Little League All Star team, and a travelball team, they must be able to commit fully to the Little League Tournament.  Any activities that are detrimental to the smooth operation of the tournament team or to the international tournament can be grounds from removal from the team.

I hope this has answered your question.  Should you have anymore, please don't hesitate to ask.
