Ankle raises is a type of exercise that focuses on the gastrocnemius muscles. That is the muscles at the lower of the leg, the calf muscles. You can perform it by stepping on a book or stair one legged, standing on toes, heel below the step, leg tight, raise yourself up only with your calf. That's it.
