Navigating the Path to FBS Coaching: DII/III vs. Direct FBS
Question
If I am attempting to make the move from high school to college coaching do you think that taking a position at a division II or III program hinders me from getting into the FBS? Should I simply put all my effort into getting in an FBS from jump? Thanks for your time and help.

In my opinion, the key is exposure and experience. Your collegiate network will be greater by working Div. II or III. For example, if you look at the Oregon State's staff many of the coaches came from a Div. III power house - Linfield College. You need to get experience at the college level and exposure and start networking.
