Safety Workouts

Question
I am 6'1" and 162lbs.  I am currently fighting for a starting position as a free safety on my high school football team.  I was wondering if there are some drills or workouts I could do get better.

Answer
Dear James,
My advice, to you, is that you walk into your coach's office and ask him what he wants.

1. What would it take for me to become the starting free safety?
2. What do I need to work on? And how can I do that?

Coaches love it when they know that you are taking your job seriously. And when it is time to pick the new safety, they will remember you. You never know it could land you the job.

Your friend, Louis
