speed and strength

Question
I'm a sophomore in high school, 6 foot 3, 175 pounds, play varsity football as a tight end. I can really only get to the weight room on the weekend because I also play varsity basketball and baseball. I was wondering if you could give me a workout routine that could allow me to get faster and stronger for next football season.

Answer
Hello Taylor,

All around athlete, that is good. The best way to get stronger and faster is to find a hill in your area, and run sprints up the hill. That will build strength and speed. On top of that, you need to get in some good ole fashioned push-ups and sit ups. I have always recommended sitting down in front of your favorite TV show and do as many push-ups and sit-ups during commercials.

With your schedule so tight, this may be the only way. Especially since you are having a hard time making the weight room.

But you have to have a regular workout schedule. It doesn't have to be 2 hours long. If it is only 20 minutes, as long as you hit it hard, it doesn't matter.

I hope I have helped you. Please take time out to rate my answer.

Thank you,

Coach Anderson
