Free saftey

Question
Im a starting free safety on the varsity team. I play for Benton High School. We
run alot of 3-4 coverage and alittle 4-4. Im 5'10" and i weigh 160lbs and run
the forty in 4.5. I was wondering if you knew anything I could do to get better at
coming down hill to stop a run when both my outside backers are blitzing.

Answer
Dear Dylan,
This is what NOT TO DO when making a tackle. NEVER drop your head when tackling another person or for any reason when playing football.

Remember you want to use the right technique to keep from hurting yourself or the other player. Never forget, the other player loves football just as much as you do and you do not want to take that away from him. So do the right thing you will be a better person for it.

I also want you to talk to your football coach at your school. He is in a better position to help you than I am. Let him know what you need you will be surprised on how much help he can be to you.

Good luck, and if you need my help I will be here for you.
Your friend, Louis
