Strength Training for Football Running Backs: Upper Body vs. Lower Body

Question
Hello Andrew Mullins, I am 16 years of age and I am looking at a future in football as a Running-back. I was just wondering, what upper body workout routines are good for possibly making it easier to run through opponents. I have no troubles with the speed aspect or seeing the field I just need to work on strength. Thanks
Nathan

Answer
Upper body is not the key.....Lower body & legs are the key.  Agility drills like running around cones, tires, ropes & deviation from left to right & back are the key......Also practice switching hands w/ the ball as you run.  Agility also includes sideways & sometimes backwards while remaining erect & upright w/ your upper body.

Good luck....
