Good for you.  You are on the right track for being a speedy agile athlete and a healthier person.  This is out of my area of expertise though.  I recommend you first contact your doctor - you can do this by phone and tell him of your plan and ask for a diet plan.  Before you start make sure you get a check up to make sure you are healthy and all your organs are working well.

The hardest part of loosing weight is that you have to eat less and choose what you eat.  Eat fewer calories and burn more.  Avoid sugars, refined sugars and carbs such as breads and flour based eatables.

Once you get checked out by your doctor develop an exercise plan with him.  This is where you will need to burn more calories that you eat.  Also you MUST Drink lots of WATER!

Running and cardio is something you will need to do every day.  If you can't run 30-45 minutes continuously, walk, then jog and then walk. Also compete with yourself to have fun.  See how much you can loose a month and see what you can do without eating.  Remember dieting is a lifestyle change and you are at the perfect age to start it.

Best of luck and keep me posted.
