Line Backer

Question
I am a high school senior and i tore my ACL and i am getting my surgery on oct 30 and i wanna play football in college for division 1 or 2. I wanna play line backer I am 5'5 in size weigh 160 and run 400 meter in 60 seconds and 200 meters in 26 seconds. So what should I do to get in shape and what should i do about working out and speed. what should i expect in college football.

Answer
Ankit,

Sorry to hear about your injury and I wish you the best in your recovery. The injury aside, you are going to have a tough time playing football at those levels due to your size. I know that is probably not what you want to hear but in reality linebackers at that level are almost all over 6 feet tall and weigh between 220 and 270. You will be playing against lineman who are over 300 lbs.

Perhaps you could consider a Division 3 school where you may have a better chance of playing.

Good luck.
