what should i play in prep school/college

Question
QUESTION: Right now i am a Sr in high school and i am going to prep school before college to get that extra year of growing on bc i will graduate at 17 and im wondering what postion i should play when i go to prep school im currently 6'1 about 200 lbs, run a 4.99 40(electronicly timed), bench 250,squat 330 and all of these stats where taken right before i turned 17. i am playing center and d-end right now. But i have played corner, linebacker, runningback, receiver, and now O and D lineman.  I have experience everywhere but don't know what to play next year and was wondering if u had an idea.

ANSWER: Cody,

I think I would focus on center. You have decent size and if you get bigger in your prep year and hit the weights hard you may be able to compete there. Your going to need to get your bench up into the 300+ range and get your weight up as much as possible without losing quickness. Your body size is a little small to play the other oline positions at the college level but would be fine for center if you can bulk up.

QUESTION: i would rather play defense if i could. What defensive position would i be best for if could play it in prep?

Answer
Cody,

I would think with your size and speed defensive end would be the spot. You need to get that 40 time down significantly to play linebacker at the next level. You may also want to consider bulking up and playing nose guard or d tackle.

Good luck,
Mark
