Noise coming from skates when walking?

Question
Hi there,

Recently purchased a pair of Bauer skates and in the last few days I have been hearing a 'crunching' noise coming from the right skate.  Its only coming from one of the skates and not noticing it often when skating but always when I get off the ice and walk around on the rubber mats.  Any ideas?  Do I need to get them repaired or return them back to the store for a new pair?
Thanks!

Answer
Hello Angelo...  it certainly is strange that it's only in one boot...  sometimes you will get the "scrunching" sound of new leather with a new skate - but that should happen on both skates...  UNLESS --  you bought a set that was often used to "try" on in the store ... and the one skate that does not squeak was tried on more often with the squeak being "worked" out of it!??

Did you get them heated up before?  Most stores have hot boxes where they heat them up and then you put them on while hot to get them to FIT better to your foot.   That could soften the leather too!

If after a few more skates it persists you definitely might want to bring it to the store you bought it at to have it inspected...  maybe there is something wrong with it and they can see by removing the sole or even the skate blade!

Hope this helps!

Good luck
