Question
Hello Martial,

I am a Canuck fan who suggested the other day that the Canucks play bottom ranking teams soft as a tactic to rest players and avoid injury. My friend Corey is skeptical this is true.

What do you think?

Thanks

Riccos

Answer
Hello Rico...

That may appear so - but I don't believe it is always that intentional -- these are all professionals and they know they are always judged by their "last" performance...  I doubt anyone really wants to jeopardize million dollar salaries ...  so I feel most players would not willingly do that...

That said - on an individual basis - anything can happen - they are all human, they have families, off ice commitments and stresses and all these can play into a player or team's performance.   Resting players at certain times CAN play into the equation too! (Especially older guys!! LOL).

Very plausible!

Hope this helps!

Cheers

M
