instant replay?

2016/7/16 9:37:58

Question
When was instant replay implemented in the NHL?
What year exactly?
Thanks.

Answer
Good Afternoon Barry,

The NHL adopted the instant replay on June 24th, 1991. It was only used to determine if the puck fully crossed the goalline, if the puck was kicked or thrown in, if the puck was directed into net off of an official, which is not allowed, and if the puck crossed the line before time ran out or the net was dislodged.

Hope this helps!

Thanks,
Guy
