Question
Hi I'm 18 ... I am playing junior hockey (not major), is it possible to be drafted and how ? is there some tryouts or a special league. Thank you

Answer
Hi Samuel!

Yes...  but you need to have a break out year ...  somehow you must get noticed by the Scouts that watch you!  There are always the possibility of be scouted.  YOU MUST STAND OUT!

Any chance you can try out for a Major Junior team next year??  Even if you don't make the team - there will be Scouts ...  and once they notice you, then it's all up to you!

Note they especially go to tournaments or to games that are "high" profile, where there may be a particular player from the team you are playing that is getting attention.  THAT is when you MUST really make an impression!

There are also some exposure camps and tournaments you can look for to play in as well.   You can try writing to the managers from the various pro teams you are interested in and just asking them about their recruiting process...  you'd be surprised at how helpful some of these guys will be!  Most of them post their e-mail addresses right on their websites!

GOOD LUCK!

Martial
