Question
Hello Martial My name is Trevor I would whant to know what cherrypicking is I`ve played Roller Hockey for 2 years. And one game during intermissions a 12 year old came up to me and called me a cherrypicker? so I would like to know the term of that word means. Thank you,Trevor

Answer
Hello Trevor...

A "cherry picker" is someone who does not come back in the defensive zone to help.  They usually stay high in the neutral zone or at the opponent's blue line - waiting for the puck to come up so they can maybe try to get it and go in on the other defensemen or goalie!

It is best to balance this and play within your coach's game plan which will usually include backchecking down low in your own end!!

Hope this helps!

Good luck with the puck!
