NCAA Eligibility

2016/7/16 9:37:43

Question
Is it possible to play any amount of time in the IHL or the CHL and not receive any compensation to play in order to keep your NCAA eligibility? Has there ever been any players that have played college hockey after a short tenure in the leagues.

Answer
Wow, you really got me on this one.  However, I have a friend in the CHL who is a VP in the front office.  I will call him tomorrow and ask him this question and see if he can give me a answer if all player must be paid or can they play without being paid for their service.

I do know that the NCAA has specific rules on eligibility.  However, the VP will know more at semi-pro levels then I do.  Send me an email at [email protected] and this will give me the chance to check it out and get back to you.

Thanks for asking.
